Why are the minimum requirements for B.R.A.I.N.S. so high?
Hi,
Regarding the thread that explains that B.R.A.I.N.S. would require a quad-core computer or something along those lines is a little confusing to me. How is it that the software requires such a computing powerhouse when the following software can achieve so much with such a basic system?
The above company offers face tracking and face recognition software development kits (at a price, mind you!), but requiring only the following specs:
Microsoft Windows (2000, XP, Vista), Linux, or Intel Mac OS X 10.5
Intel Pentium 4-Class (Intel Core2 Duo recommended)
1 GB RAM (2 GB RAM recommended)
225 MB free disk space
Perhaps it would be a good idea to try to start a donation drive to raise the $500 or so needed for an initial personal license, then look at the possibility of integrating it into a release for distribution at a fee.

The requirements for B.R.A.I.N.S are so high(quad core etc) because it does more than just face tracking and recognition, like controlling the actuators, speech, etc
Actually the requirements are limitless, the faster the hardware(processor, memory etc) ,the faster and better the B.R.A.I.N.S responses are.
