Re: aiko V2
You should probably search on google for humanoid robots and see what they are using... See for example Robocup competition - the teams have to post papers how the robot works ( http://www.robocup2009.org/300-0-teams )spring wrote:OK , i have got a question , in big and heavy robot like aiko how we suppose to maintain balance and how many sensors we have to put

i wonder if he can use a mini laptop instead of a main-board in aiko
i think a mini laptop will have a little heat

Yes, that was one of the new things that was worked on for v2.spring wrote:i have a question about aiko V2

The skin itself is another matter, however Le is making progress on that too.

Re: aiko V2
will he use servos to move her lips or motors
i hope motors because servos make a noise

Re: aiko V2
You can't say that. Sevo is just a motor with a gearbox. If you don't want noise you can use solenoids or muscle wires...or some low noise ball bearing servos...spring wrote:i hope motors because servos make a noise

Re: aiko V2
which is why most androids built (big budget ones anyways) use pneumatic actuators.spring wrote:i am myself have a servo its noisy because of the gearbox

look at some well-known ones, like repliee, dion, actroid, and jules.
all of those are nearly silent when they move, but pneumatics makes the cost skyrocket, and pneumatics cannot support the weight of the bot.
i can't recall it's name, but that grey baby robot? it's all pneumatics. while it is very quiet, it can't stand. and pneumatics require pressurized air, which requires a compressor inside, or a large external compressor.
servo is a good choice as it adds minimal complexity and takes a minimum of space and money.
that answer your question?

Re: aiko V2
You can disassemble it and put vaseline (something like that) in the gearbox to lower the friction and noise...spring wrote:but is their any solution for the sound of the servo without changing them
