Brazilian soap opera has robots as one of the main plots
A Brazilian soap opera started last week.
One of the main plots is a scientist who lost his wife is a car crash and remakes her as a perfect robotical copy. The name of the robot is Naomi.
Another character is a little Nao.

The video is in Portuguese, but it is the moment when Naomi robot "is born"

Flavia Alessandra, the Brazilian actress that plays Naomi the robot with little Nao.
The Nao palys an important rule as it is Naomi's best friend.
Here in Brazil we feel confortable with the idea of robots because we had a big influence of japonese culture. In the 1945's a lot of people from Japan migrated to Brazil and brought the idea of automatization as a normal thing.
So a big amount of Brazilian people love robots, internet, AI, chat bots ...

I hope you are doing well.
Looks interesting, maybe the only soup opera I would watch. Even though I don't like Nao, it reminds me on overpriced Apple products.

Hi Ico,
thank you very much for asking.
As people in my country say: I am just going on.
But world don't stop and I think I need to go on.
So I came back to this forum, to my blog, to msn and Internet at all no metter if i will never see my friend again on-line. She is in heaven now. I know it because she was a great and kind person.
I will allways be here to talk and learn about robotics and AI.
Yes, I am watching a soap opera for the first time in my life. Brazil has a huge tradition in soap operas. 3 per day.
I am enjoying this one, not only because of the robotic plot but also because of archeology ( another main plot )
Interesting combination: Robotic+Archeology...
I also don't like Nao... It is too expensive ... but I must confess that I am really very curious about Aldebaran's Romeo (this one will be ridiculouslly expensive = U$300,000.00).
here is the oppening:
