If you haven't already seen this blog (http://inmoov.blogspot.com/) then you may want to check it out. The person there is currently making a humanoid robot that is not just 3D printed, but open source as well. Those with more experience in robotics may want to contribute or make their own derivative of the robot.

Impressive design, look forward to seeing how that ends up. We're 3D printing a kid-size robot as a prototype for a future RoboCup event. Pretty convenient and cost saving to do, but it's still not such a straightforward approach and the tolerances can be a pain depending on the varying quality of the print.
