How build a robot how AIKO?

Hello. I have a question about how start in build robots (how AIKO).
What steps follow for build a robot how Aiko? I'm beginner. Only, in this moment, what
i could to do was a chatbot that use the Speech SDK Windows, Python, PyAIML
and i publish in my blog. My dificulty is the hardware. How to organize a
project how this. What steps follow. I'm studing more and searching, but
i am not in university, i'm self learner.

If you really want build a life size humanoid robot like Aiko then you should first concentrate on the most important sense - the vision...computer vision
A blind humanoid robot isn't very helpful in daily life... "blind" robots can work in the industry but for daily life you need vision...

You have reason. It's true. The sense are important.
I think that i must follow your idea. And i must to work in the robot's brain, AI and vision computer too. I think that hardware of body is next step in end step. Is this it? I must build "brain" software and to test in PC. What PC requeriments for experiments?

I have PC with 1GB ram and processor isn't a intel dual core rsrs.
Here resources and power for buy isn't very big, work with litle resources.

I think divide the work in steps for follow help me build this project. I must to make a screenplay with resources necessary. Will be a work that will need time of study and search.
