Is it possible to "install" aiko into any computer to let the computer acts like my friend?
I think the body part of the robot is too expensive, so before the manufacturing process of the body part become cheaper, is it possible to let this female program to live in the computer only? Is it possible to consider to give her some facial expression(these images can be drawed by animation drawer, like those animation in japan), and give her voice like those in the animation. So the expensive body part hardware can be solved later and focus on her mind(program). Besides she can become popular as anybody can have her to be a friend and nobody will feel alone.
I really admire the inventor Le, you really change the world, the human life may be rewritten.

Yea, if a select few where chosen and given the AI for testing with their PCs, it might further the development.
The information gathered by (let’s say) "Aiko AI" in the individuals PCs, can be added to the main database. Things like objects and movements can be gathered. Allowing for a wider ranged database to be created.
Depending if you have built a customizable AI, different personalities can be tested if not produced.

I gues it's not a bad idea. Spreading a self learning AI over many PC's with users that care about the project. That could be pretty eficient
Re: Is it possible to "install" aiko into any computer to let the computer acts like my friend?
Just to be clear on this, the material would only be released under contract and liability documents. So if one of the selected few ends up losing it or tries to steal it, the owner will have all rights to sue and further protect his work.
As someone who works under IP, I know how thought it is to feel that your work is safe and protect it.
Aside of that, any hardware would have to be provided by the individual. Not the distributer. That way, when it’s time to return the info, the hardware won’t be an issue.

It'd run a lot better on a maxed out quadcore Intel core i7 system than it would on energy efficient, battery powered motherboards and other low energy consumption hardware. Actually, It'd probably run on a lot of things better. Your average duelcore setup would do it alright. With a webcam and microphone setup of course.

Re: Is it possible to "install" aiko into any computer to let the computer acts like my friend?
Hi...
I was thiinking about having a few people testing it...
Currently, only two uses the BRAINS Lite software which is Intel Arti, and NanoTech Atom.
YOu will need at least quad core to have it work...
I will need to setup a miniPc with a quad core or corei7 and send to people to sample the product.
Some of the function will not work such as sensors and motors...... because you have no aiko with you.
You will be testing, Speech, reading, face, 3-D object extraction, and the Ai conversation....
A core7 system will probably cost about $1200 (still expensive) and a micro vision controller about $500...
so $1700.... which is still too expensive..... maybe next year the price will drop and I can start to do a few sample and send them out.

That sounds great!
Just wondering, are you using the indevidual cores of the processor, or are you just sending the info to it generally?
If youare doing it by core, that's perfect. If generally, then thats where you might be having problems. Most software and hardware as of this date don't use the individual cores. The only program I know of is Vista that does. AMD made a driver update that seperates data into parts or by priority to utilize each core.

Doubts about purpose
What is Brains if you need a fast computer platform to run it would it not be easy to say this the specs you need download it and run. Is brains really that dificult a program. I geuss as its a android purpouse software the goal is just that and not a desktop am I correct.

It would be running on a 64 bits OS.
Vista 64 or windows Sever 64 bits...
6 Gig of memory, and intel i7
Solid state would be nice..... but still expensive.

Hmm... Well I forced a few applications to run on machines with less than 50% of mnimal spec, or on cards that didnt support as high DirectX (Without overclocking), But the specification You announced is almost ... 6 times more than I have XD... i& Just arrived in Poland and It's one of the most (If not THE most) expensive CPU's around XD
Materials needed to make aiko
What is the materials needed to make aiko? (Including her body)

"What is the materials needed to make aiko?"
I am not sure what you mean by that.
In theory, you only need a fast computer to run the BRAINs software.
If you are asking what is the outside of Aiko made of.... it's silicone.

Re: Is it possible to "install" aiko into any computer to let the computer acts like my friend?
This could be an excellent way to get feedback, as this could theoretically be considered a "beta test" of the hardware. Each user would be able to add more info, slightly adjust the settings to their liking, etc. The feedback would be able to inform you what users do to make the system perhaps not better, but more manageable. This, in turn, could be used to develop the system even more. This leads to two things: number one is marketability, then number two is the possibility of this being given to other AI researchers who may take the information, combine it with their own and continue to develop more realistic AI. This of course will lead ot actual AI, but I'm afraid that that will have to piggyback the short term goal of marketability and numerous other things.
I say do it.
Also, I know that this is odd to say, but I'm already coming up with ways to not only help develop Aiko/Yumecom technology, but I am afraid many of my ideas deal with having to get into contact with larger corporations and such... I'll probably make a thread about my ideas and see what everyone thinks about them...

Sounds great, I think this will get some good feedback to promote the development process. But I also note that if this is a commercial project, it likely to face some problems can not be published the software. In any case, I support the developers, and keep up the good work!

Hi
As of today, project aiko is still a personal project. Working on Aiko v2 slowly, but hopefully it will be a big step for human in the future.

There goes hope of a Sumomo Edition designed to work on netbooks with the Atom CPU. ^_^

Whats the real benefits from core 7 cpu's except speed. I would wait for the multi multi core processor.

Same befit as there would be to running multi-Xeon processors a few years ago, or how we had 386SX processors that also utilized co-processors. Could you imagine an 80286 trying to process Vista even if the 286 could handle 6GB of RAM the CPU has to crunch so much data...

I would be happy to beta test the brains software
I , like probably everyone else here, would jump at the oportunity to beta test the brains software on my computers.
If there is any chance, Please let me know.

Likewise. I will be working a new i7 into my budget for when this becomes available.

Isn't it possible indeed to share a part of it.
(the learning part)
so people can learn things to aiko, and transfer the learned things, either to your server directly (don't recommend incase of security)
or just be able to dump it and send it to you.
So that Aiko can learn faster ^^
I do have an EEE pc for the testing.
And an brand new Intel I7 pc.
and some other notebooks.
I myself will start on making an Hatsune Miku robot on 21 june (however I don't think my already ordered parts will arrive on time so likely it will start about 23 june).
Still I have no experience in AI programming yet, though I would really like to learn it
And I'm going to take this serious, and am willing to spend years on building and programming it ^^
Edit: Wow and yeah my pc did cost me about: 1299 euro's

That's quite a good idea. An open source learning for robots. Le goes to school so he has no time for Aiko, if he would make Aiko open source then other people could make the job and the development would go much much much faster.PJ wrote:Isn't it possible indeed to share a part of it. I totally approve. MikuMiku FTW Will it be a small doll size robot (like https://projectaiko.forumotion.com/anime-manga-f5/real-anime-style-robots-t134.htm#1428) or a humanoid one (like https://projectaiko.forumotion.com/anime-manga-f5/real-anime-style-robots-t134-15.htm#1721) ?PJ wrote:I myself will start on making an Hatsune Miku robot on 21 june
If you make this https://projectaiko.forumotion.com/anime-manga-f5/real-anime-style-robots-t134-15.htm#1707 into robots you are a hero.
Post some pictures when you start making it.
