While highly detailed, the biggest flaw lies in the truth detection software. You see, while there are no doubt humans who are smart and/or wise enough to determine a lie, the average human does not carry this "ability." It is learned, slowly and over time.
Otherwise, highly detailed. I would suggest more integration between the divisions as well (learning combined with physical tough, for instance). By making everything connect to learning and the other methods, the AI could develop better and become more realistic.
As for the voice: that is a trivial matter at the immediate moment, but I have suggested several times now that contact with Yamaha for use of their vocaloid programming would be greatly beneficial to the development.

Yes, voice with more "lively" and less mono tone.
That will be my future upgrade for the BRAINS software.
Still haven't figure out how to do emotion for the software.
If I had the money, I would just buy other people technology.... but I don't... so you have to do it yourself.
As for the Aiko knowing her own location....
Easy.... just add indoor GPS... assuming I have the money.

Japan wants a robot in every home by 2015 (only 6 more years).
By then there will be so many around Aiko will get lost on the market.
As an example, you don't hear about Hunt's Tomato Paste anymore (except in home cooking).
Most high traffic restaurants won't even use it because people prefer Heinz Ketchup.

Will a robot really be your house maid by then.
I've seen a documentary on the English BBC about robots.
For the things they still struggle about a robot to whatever definition defines theirs
possibly will see the lights of day in Uhm say 2070 if not for another financial crisis ,
or whatever seems to put lag on serious distributions of functional androids.
This reminds me a little about how people in the 1930 expect flying cars in the year 2000
or a robot that will serve us and do our every bidding.
I know I'm a little sarcastic and pessimistic but the trouble still is defining A.I which is different then human
intelligence.

I'm a non-computer educated person so this question may be stupid.
Would having the computer be the "brains" of Aiko and Aiko herself be a remote puppet of the program make things easier for programming and production? Or am I just talking out of my butt ?

I don't understand.
Censors on her body don't really feel sensation if that's what you mean.What if you made it to where everything about Aiko was on the computer, and the physical body of Aiko was controlled by wireless remote ? Would that make things easier or more difficult ?
They are hooked up to the BRAINS software, as is the visual cues system and vocal reactions, so in a way she already is just a doll.

I think it will be a lot more difficult like that, the robot works like this:
Brains software is processed by the CPU-> signals get send to micro controlers through the main board's I/O ports-> then micro controlers convert those signals in 8bits or 16bits and send them to the servo motors, I think the range of those signals are between 1 and 1.5, 1 they go to one side and 1.5 to the opposite side and with values between 1,1.5 they rotate in between the left or right as to say.
Sending the signals from the main board's I/O ports(let's say the main board is in your PC not the robot's body) to the micro controlers wireless is possible with wireless network cards but you would only complicate yourself too much.

I only did it once, it was inside a TV station at CBC....
It didn't go as well as a plan..... too much interference.....

would a different radio frequency help? maybe a VLF signal? and as the brains software seems to be limited in sensor count, what about connecting the main board to several daughter boards, which connect to sensors. so a large amount of touch sensors could be in her face, and the daughter board would identify which sensor was triggered and where it is, then send that data to the software, which would act accordingly.

Sensor board is very small. You can pretty much add a lot inside of Aiko.
Wireless N is cheap and you can get them easily at any computer store.

That was a fascinating thought that I Was not alone in thinking of this concept, something I had considered once before myself on a design project I was working on for solar. I had called it "Remote Viewing" where the physical brain and self awareness modules existed outside of the body of the structure I was designing. I dropped the concept because I did not like the idea of wifi. Even today every computer in my house is hardwired.

i used hardwired for a while... i switched over to wireless on my computer. a wireless N MIMO card for less than $30 including shipping. maximum speed of 300 megabytes a second transfer. made by netgear.
pretty much went with no more computer wires for internet.
that's the only thin i use wireless (apart from phone and such).
in addition to VLF, there's ELF, or maybe microwave communication? a simple antenna would broadcast a 360 degree signal but would be harder to set up... ELF and VLF require long antennas, maybe the frame of aiko would become the antenna?
