We've been talking about how to make Aiko walk so much, we've missed the obvious question:
What is a good alternative for walking?
There was a group who did some things with treads and sliders, but a more realistic idea would be roller boots.
She can have boots on with a vertical shoe tree in them which is attached to a motorized Segway (tlb.org/scooter.html).
The Segue is controlled by a helicopter type remote, but doesn't look as pathetic as a wheelchair.
Her knees would have to have a locking mechanism yet still be springy when locked (gravity assisted).
Her thighs (and pelvis) would also be locked to her torso, but not too stiff.
